Description
With the closure of majority of the Da yu ling tea gardens in a restorative move by the Taiwan government has set Lala Shan as the new upcoming king of high mountain oolongs. These oolongs are prized for the Qi (energy), complex flavours that are only available in good quality high mountain oolongs.
This tea grown at around 1500m above sea level is a excellent Jade oolong. Unlike Jin Xuan there isn’t a milky floral flavour but rather an intense fruityness which is very delicious.
As with all high mountain oolongs are best suited to bewing in a gaiwan or yixing pot – I would not recommend a western style brewing for this tea as the flavours are quiet mild.
